Poetry

First of all, I am part of a poetry group called Poetic Summit: Strategic Noise. On Tuesday, we did a plug-piece (group piece) created from our very own Poetic Summit President, Mike Major, at the Black Students Association meeting. The plug-piece took us weeks and weeks to finally be amazing on it and memorized. Once they called on us for information, we started our poem, which was fantastic. Reciting a group piece in front of a  large group of people was very exciting, I was more excited to experience doing a group piece for the first time in my life.

On Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, we will have our first engagement called The Mixer. The Mixer is our first opening up for Poetic Summit. It will be placed at the Multi-Center and it will be on point! Getting the feel of becoming an improved poet this semester is helping out tremendously with my poetry. Wanting to become a Poet, I'm blessed God is giving me a start this semester, especially with Poetic Summit!

Busy With Disappointment

Yes, school can, and will, get stressful at times, but how can it get worse? Friends!Yes, your friends/best friends makes a huge impact in college. "You find your real friends in college" people say...well I will say that's bull! College students are just like those jacked up kids from high school you thought you gotten away from. Yes, some are good friends, but those who you claim, or want to be, your best friends are as cold as that unwanted graded you're getting in your awful class. All I'm saying is that, do not expect the same treatment another individual got out of college because you all paths are different with each other, and you all don't hang with the same crowd.

The Weekend!!!

This weekend, my mom and I will be headed up to visit, and stay, with my oldest brother and his family till Sunday. I'm like ssoooooo excited because 1st) I have not seen them since the first week of winter break; 2nd) I miss my two nephews, Quintin who's 2 years old and Issiah who's 9 months old; and 3rd) I get to spend time with my mom as well! This weekend will be the greatest weekend for me because God is just that Greatastic for me!

School has been going great so far, ending our 4th week. My classes are not that bad as well and I actually feel more calm about this semester than I ever did my whole freshman year. I am meeting new friends and bonding stronger with the "already-have" friends. Our football team is now 1-1 because they need desperate help playing football. I am excited about this year and blessed to be back for another satisfying year!
